About Charity
Knockholt Village Centre is a Charity registered with the Charity Commission, under the name Knockholt Village Centre Council (KVCC) Charity number 265789. The charity was created by a Deed of Gift 3rd November 1930 and a Lease and Trust Deed dated 3rd February 1973. The aims of the charity are to provide a village hall for the use of the inhabitants of the parish of Knockholt.
The trustees of KVCC are responsible for overseeing the maintenance and the day to day running of the village centre. The trustees number between 8 and 12 and are made up of members from Knockholt clubs and Societies that use the village centre and the wider community. One of the trustees will also represent the Parish Council (the premises are built on land owned by Knockholt Parish Council).
The trustees will hold regular, usually monthly, committee meetings to consider the business of KVCC.
The Annual General meeting (AGM) is held once a year, usually in March. At this meeting representatives of Knockholt Clubs and Societies and the wider community attend to elect the trustees.
A representative of each Knockholt Club or Society will be entitled to attend a regular quarterly meeting with the Trustees (including the AGM) and will be entitled to receive a report of the proceedings of KVCC and to express their views. These views will be taken in to consideration by the trustees.
We welcome new trustees and volunteers, so if you would like to get involved, please contact the chair.

History of Charity and Village Centre
The original village hall was built in 1898, but has since then been altered and extended most notably in the early 1970's when the current main hall, toilets and hobbies room were built.
In 2010 major discussions started as it was realised the building was
deteriorating and plans were submitted to build a completely new
village centre but in the end it was decided the original building
should be refurbished . Work started on this around 2020 applying for
grants and starting work on the roof.
In early 2024 Phase 1 of the refurbishment was completed with funding for Phase 2 being actively sort.
