Knockholt Village Centre

Knockholt Bowling Club

Location

Situated at the end of Ivy Lane in as peaceful a setting as onecould wish, the Knockholt Bowling Club has a well-kept green and pavilion. The Club was re-formed in 1990, the old club having ceased playing in the 1950s.

The new Club was the result of a lot of effort by a dedicated number of Knockholt and Halstead residents, who spent time and money, and a lot of hard work, getting the necessary authority to proceed with the building of the green and the pavilion.

Open Days

There is always one Open Day each season; for 2022 there are two;  June 11 and July 2nd from 2.30pm, when everyone is welcome to come along and try their hand at the game, although anyone is welcome at any time.

PLEASE WEAR FLAT SOLED SHOES

The Season

The lawn bowls season runs from late April until the end of September. We play friendly matches most weekends and Wednesdays; we hold a club night roll-up on Tuesday evenings for members to enjoy an evening of bowling amongst themselves; ladies league matches are played on a Monday evening; men’s league matches are played on Thursday andFriday evenings.

Matches

We have one ladies’ team who play their matches in the West Kent League; the men have one team in the North West Kent League and three teams in the Sevenoaks League. Friendly matches are generally played in a mixed triples format (three players each team).

Membership

All are welcome to apply to join Knockholt Bowling Club, from teenage to any age. If you are new to the game, we have our own County Coach and a number of experienced bowlers to help you with your game. There is a small charge for each match played.

Members can also use the green to practice whenever they wish, subject to rink availability. There is no additional charge for this once the annual fees have been paid. Rink bookings are made online and members can check availability on line via our NEW website – www.knockholtbowlingclub.co.uk.
