Jaguar Enthusiasts' Club

The Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club (JEC), which celebrates its 40th founding anniversary this year (2024), is the largest Jaguar club in the world, with an ongoing commitment to being the first port of call for all things Jaguar.

It’s split into regions not only throughout the UK and Ireland, but Europe too and is dedicated to assisting all Jaguar, SS and Daimler vehicle enthusiasts with getting the absolute best out of their cars, providing them with expert advice in a friendly and informal way and giving them all the support they need to keep costs low both on and off the road.

Benefits include free roam of JEC’s massive information base, friendly support from other members, a superb 180-page monthly magazine, and exclusive access to offers on merchandise, event fees, and specialist insurance packages. JEC HQ reckons members can potentially save up to 10 times the annual membership fee—find out more here: https://jec.org.uk/benefits

I’m writing this as a committee member of JEC Kent Region, which has a club night every fourth Wednesday of the month (barring December) at the Three Horseshoes pub in Knockholt.

We also have our own quarterly magazine, Jaguar Eye, organise events throughout the year, have a free summer BBQ for members and spouses and a free buffet at our AGM, which is held in January. And we also welcome all Jaguar / SS / Daimler owners, regardless of how new or old your car is.

During 2024, for example, our events include participation in National Drive It Day on 21st April, which was created by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs in 2005 to celebrate the One Thousand Mile Trial organised in 1900 to prove the viability of that new invention, the motor vehicle. It’s also a chance to raise awareness and support amongst the public for the historic vehicle movement and keeping transport heritage on UK roads. JEC Kent’s event has a planned country drive from the White Hart pub at Brasted to the Chequers on the Green pub at High Halden for lunch.

Other events JEC Kent is taking part in include the Laughton Cuckoo Fayre on 26th May; Hayes Fair on 9th June; Kent Region’s own Devon Holiday 24-28th June (fully booked but we have a waiting list); Warlingham Classic Car Show on 14th July; the Parham House Gathering on 4th August organised by JEC West Sussex Region; Cranleigh Lions’ Classic Car Show on 11th August; Kent’s Classic on 8th September; and our own JEC Kent Day at Lullingstone Castle on 1st September.

What does it cost? You must be a member of the main club to join Kent Region and its current annual UK new membership fee is £59 plus a one-off £6 joining fee. Kent Region membership will cost you a further £20 per year. Both fees include all members of your immediate family.
